About the book
A frank and free-flowing discussion with one of the Caribbean’s most recognizable political figures, Dame Mary Eugenia Charles of Dominica. What was certainly my most compelling media moment is now a treasure to the world of political leadership, and a welcome addition to Dominica’s political history. Read through the text as you listen to the commanding voice of the Dame in this last full-length interview with the Caribbean’s Iron Lady.

Excerpt from the book
Alex Bruno: What would you like us – as a generation – a nation, to do for you or for, um, your legacy and that of your family, generally.
Dame Eugenia: I would like people to realize that hard work never killed anybody; that you don’t get anything unless you have hard work and good plans (pause) to, to work with. You don’t just work hard; you work hard with good plans for the purpose of improving the lot of every single Dominican. I want every Dominican to be better off as a result of us having lived in this world.
Alex Bruno: Have you regretted anything in your life?
Dame Eugenia: No. I am perfectly happy.
